HOUSTON (May 6, 2021) -- TPC Group has a long history of finding opportunities to give back and support the communities in which we operate. Established in 2018, TPC Group’s ONE DAY event has created an opportunity for employees to make a difference in the community in the southeast Texas region. This year, TPC Group’s ONE DAY event was hosted in a safe, COVID-friendly manner, while providing the goods and services that are necessary to support underserved families and target hunger in our communities.

In partnership with two local organizations, Tejano Center for Community Concerns and Nutrition & Services for Seniors, Company volunteers helped to make a difference by hosting a food drive, delivering meals to homebound seniors, and raising money for each organization.

“Nutrition & Services for Seniors is so grateful to TPC and all of its employees who volunteered with our Meals on Wheels program,” said Janci Kimball, Nutrition & Services for Seniors President & CEO. “The volunteers generously gave their time to bring warm meals and smiles to our seniors who are so grateful to see smiling faces at their doors. More volunteers allow more people to have a meal who are now going hungry. A volunteer may be the only person the homebound talk to that day, so the impact the volunteers have in the lives of the seniors in Jefferson County has been significant.”

Employees collected more than 200 pounds of shelf-stable food items and other essential items, delivered more than 300 hot meals to homebound seniors living in Jefferson and Hardin counties, and raised more than $1,680. Every dollar donated by employees went directly to the organizations and combined with TPC’s donation of $5,000, the Company was able to donate $3,331 to each organization.

“We are thankful to have TPC Group as a new community partner. Without the help of organizations like TPC Group, we would not be able to make the impact in these communities who need our support now more than ever,” said Adriana Tamez Tejano Center for Community Concerns President & CEO. “With the impacts from COVID-19 and then recovering from the freeze event, every dollar given, every pound of food donated has made a difference in our community. We cannot thank TPC enough.”
